Hoover Max Extract 60 Pressure Pro Carpet Deep Cleaner (Full) Review

Easy-To-UseMany people are turned off of carpet cleaning or choose to incur the cost of professional carpet cleaning because they think using carpet cleaners is hard and complicated. A carpet cleaner that is easy to use makes it easy to clean. This model has many user-friendly benefits, making it a great first-time deep carpet cleaner.

  • Lightweight: The Hoover Max Extract weighs 9.91 kilograms (21.9 lbs) which is lightweight to average compared to the weight of other deep cleaners. Having a machine that is not too heavy makes it easier to get through cleaning without becoming tired or sore. A lighter machine is also easier to maneuver around furniture allowing you to clean without missing spots.
  • Auto Conversion Tools: When you’re cleaning the carpet but just can’t ignore that spot on the upholstery, quickly change from floor to above-the-floor with the auto conversion tools conveniently located at your fingertips. No bending, reaching and wasting time switching from one to the other.
  • Smart Tank System: There are separate tanks for clean water being sprayed out, and the dirty water being sucked into the machine. The separate tanks make it easy to fill and empty the water as you clean. The specific design of the handles and openings help to avoid spills.
  • Automatic Detergent System: You don’t have to guess how much detergent to add or risk making your water to soapy. The Max Extract 60 Pressure Pro is designed with an automatic detergent system that provides the right ratio of detergent and water for the best cleaning results.

Powerful CleaningThis carpet cleaner may be well-sized and easy to use but that doesn’t mean it’s light on cleaning power. This Hoover Max Extract has patented technology and all kinds of features that make it an effective deep carpet cleaning machine that loosens, lifts and removes dirt and grime.Whether your deep cleaning schedule is monthly, quarterly or twice a year, you’ll notice a difference in the condition of your carpets, rugs, furniture and floors after effectively removing deep-down dirt, stubborn stains, and pet and cigarette odors.

  • Pressurized Edge to Edge Cleaning: The constant spray gives you a wall of pressurized water that loosens and lifts stubborn stains. Those particles are then washed away.
  • MaxExtract DualV Nozzle: This Hoover deep carpet cleaner is designed with a double chamber nozzle to power wash surfaces with even suction across a wide path. This means that dirty water is pulled up evenly so your floors dry fast without leaving wet spots.
  • SpinScrub® Brush Technology: Spinscrub Technology is a great feature for deep cleaning floors as well as carpets. When cleaning sealed wood, vinyl or tile, the patented 360° counter-rotating, removable brushes gently wash and scrub from all angles. Similarly, it’s engineered to surround fibers, removing dirt at every angle, when cleaning rugs and carpets. Either way, the result is thorough deep carpet and floor cleaning that leaves your home looking and smelling fresh and clean.
  • Automatic Detergent System: You don’t have to guess how much detergent to add or risk making your water to soapy. The Max Extract 60 Pressure Pro is designed with an automatic detergent system that provides the right ratio of detergent and water for the best cleaning results.
  • Upholstery Tool: Spills, stains and deep down dirt aren’t limited to floors and carpets. The convenient upholstery tool and 8ft. accessory hose included allow you to easily pick up debris from places the power brush can’t get to. This includes wet and dry strokes on stairs and couches.
  • Fast Drying: Another common turnoff to deep cleaning is the impression that it takes a long time for floors to dry. Who has time to allow for a whole day of drying? The features on the Hoover Max Extract 60 Pressure Pro minimize drying time so you can resume your regular routine.Quick-drying floors starts with the MaxExtract DualV Nozzle Technology that pulls up more dirty water. The heat activated drying lifts and removes residual water from carpet fibers. As a result, you can enjoy clean dry floors, carpets and furniture in just a few hours.
  • Easy-To-Clean: In some cases, deep carpet cleaning can seem like a really double whammy. First you clean the carpets, then when you’re done, spend more time cleaning the machine.Talk about a chore. And some water tank designs can make emptying awkward and messy. The Smart Tanks System in the Pressure Pro gives you separate tanks for clean and dirty water, so you can fill, empty, and rinse each tank individually. The design makes it easy to fill and empty the tanks without spilling, which is good because you will have to empty and fill the water tanks frequently. The brush head is also easily removed for cleaning.

What We Like

Overall, we like that so many of this carpet cleaner’s features are about good useability and a positive cleaning experience. This is a good quality, entry-level cleaning machine that won’t overwhelm with excessive features. Because of its size, weight and ease of use, It’s also well-suited to anyone who may find maneuvering and handling bigger machines troublesome. The user manual provides clear instructions and tips for use, and a two-year warranty is included [1].

Limitations

The Hoover Max Extract is a quality deep carpet cleaner without too many limitations. If comparing to other models, you’ll see that the Max Extract 60 Pressure Pro has just one brush speed compared to other models with a 3-speed brush roll. Also it does not have a rinse/wash selector. Neither of these are deal-breakers, in our opinion, given the many features and cleaning performance of this older model. One thing of significance is that because the cleaning solution, brush and motor do such a good job of loosening dirt, washing fibers and removing deep down debris, your water tank will quickly fill with dirty water to be emptied. Depending on how large of a space you are cleaning, you may have to empty and refill the water tanks frequently. As noted above, the user-friendly design makes it pretty easy to refill water and detergent and dump dirty water without spills and messes.

Frequently Asked Questions About Carpet Deep Cleaning

Our Hoover Max Extract 60 Pressure Pro Carpet Deep Cleaner review details all the great features and benefits of this particular carpet deep cleaner, but you may still have overall questions about carpet cleaning.

Vacuuming is great but deep cleaning carpets and furniture does more than just remove deep-down dirt. Deep cleaning washes carpet fibres, removes stains, freshens the home, helps old carpets look brand new, and prolongs the life of your furniture [2].

Here are answers to some deep cleaning FAQs.

How often should I deep clean my carpets and floors?

How often you deep clean carpets and floors will depend somewhat on lifestyle. Households with pets, children and/or cigarette smokers may choose to deep clean as often as monthly to reduce dirt particles in carpet fibers and keep the home smelling fresh. Other households may choose to deep clean quarterly or just twice a year, while using their carpet cleaner to tackle heavy traffic areas, spills and stubborn stains in between scheduled cleanings.

Do I still need to vacuum my carpets and rugs?

Yes, you should still vacuum carpets and rugs regularly to avoid the build up of sand and dirt that gets embedded and wears on the carpet fibers. It’s also recommended that before deep cleaning, you start by vacuuming your carpets and rugs to remove pet hair and other debris.

With the Hoover Max Extract 60 Pressure Pro, your deep cleaning will look a lot like vacuuming except you’ll use the trigger to release a mix of water and cleaning solution of wet passes followed by dry passes that suck up the dirty water.

How can I reduce the drying time after carpet cleaning?

The Hoover Max Extract 60 Pressure Pro Carpet Deep Cleaner has a dual chamber nozzle and heat activated drying to help your carpets dry fast. Generally speaking, you can expect your carpets, rugs and upholstery to dry in just a few hours.

To get your carpets to dry faster, you can also raise your heat or turn on fans and a dehumidifier. Opening vents to increase air circulation can also help reduce drying time.
